I bought this because I have trouble with humidity causeing my other salt shakers to clog. This one closes so that does'nt happen unless you leave the lid up. This review is from: Tupperware Large Hourglass Salt & Pepper Shakers I ve used Tupperware for a lot of years, my other salt & pepper shakers lids broke, I ordered new ones, I must say, I'm a little disappointed, that I found the new ones to be much thinner, I suspect the lids on the new ones will not last long.
